The last favour you have to do is close the realm tears and you should be good. The remaining locked chests in the Central Chamber can be opened with enough Mist Echoes to earn some fairly rewarding items that range from enchantments to weapon pommels. Return to Sindri to learn about what is needed to craft the armor - and you'll find more ingredients randomly in the coffins and chests while you explore the maze.

There are also locked Legendary Chests and Realm Tears that can only be opened when you have enough resources, and opening them will grant you materials needed to craft and upgrade Ivaldi's Armor - which can help slow the effects of the poison fog, and will become crucial to surviving and grinding in this realm. Some of the chests and coffins are unlocked, and hold around 1,500 Mist Echoes - as well as Ivaldi's Rusted Armor. It is also home to several chests and Realm Tears that will become something of a main goal here in Niflheim. To prevent losing your Mist Echoes, leave the maze from the entrance near Sindri's shop or climb up the steps to the Central Chamber of the maze once you've unlocked it.įirstly you need 500 mist echos to get a key stone from sindri, you obtain mist echoes from breaking chest in the maze, once you have the keystone head to the central chamber to and open the door (use the image provided to help you out) When you get to the central chamber you'll find a relatively safe area from the mist, which can serve as a new place to rest between runs. If you die in the maze, you'll lose all of the Mist Echoes you've collected since the last time you entered the maze. There can also be another Nornir Chest in Area D which opens when you hit the rune switches above you in Areas A, B, and C to match the ones on the chest.
There is one randomly generated Nornir Chest in the sections between the main areas (A-B, B-C, A-D, C-D) where you have to hit the 3 bells above you in the area. There are also Nornir chests in the maze.
Chests can also be found in hidden sections between the crushing wall and sawblade traps. You'll need to kill all of the monsters in an area to open the chests. The chests are in the open areas that are filled with high level monsters - ranging from level 7 to 8, and all are very powerful. Your goal in the maze is to collect Mist Echoes from the chests all around the maze. The maze is procedurally generated which means that the areas you visit reset every time you leave the maze. But Sindri first wants you to get 500 mist Echoes so that he can craft the keystone needed to get into Ivaldi's workshop inside the center of the maze. Fortunately, Sindri can craft you armor so that your pink gauge is depleted slower which will allow you to stay in the maze longer. The area ahead of him is part of a maze that will kill anybody who stays in there too long. Sindri will appear ahead of you and he'll give you the lowdown on the realm. From the entrance, avoid the fog by sticking to higher ground and look for chests that hold Mist Echoes. If the bar empties completely, you'll rapidly lose health until death. The realm is covered in a poisonous mist that will deplete the pink bar that appears above you. Once they are collected, you can travel to the realm. The realm of Niflheim is an optional realm in God of War that can only be accessed after you gain the 4 Niflheim Language Ciphers.
